Prime Minister of Republic of Kosovo Hashim Thaçi has working lunch with business community in Geneva

As part of his official visit to Geneva, Switzerland, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, had a working lunch today with the business community in Geneva. 

Prime Minister Thaçi highly acknowledged the good interstate relations between Kosovo and Switzerland and expressed his appreciation for the support that Switzerland has continually offered Kosovo. 

Prime Minister Thaçi also presented the achievements marked by the Republic of Kosovo following the declaration of independence focusing on the economic development of the country. 

One of the key objectives of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo is to achieve sustainable economic development and to advance socio-economic welfare of the citizens. To this end, the Government I am leading has drafted a vision for sustainable economic development in Kosovo, an advanced vision based on the best European practices of free market economy – said Mr. Thaçi.

To implement this vision, the Government of the Republic of Kosovo is particularly focused on attracting international investment in Kosovo – said Prime Minister Thaçi and added that in this respect the Government has undertaken major reforms to create a favorable climate for international investments in Kosovo. 

As part of incentives to develop business in Kosovo, Prime Minister Thaçi mentioned the ongoing reforms in legislation and taxes. 

In the meeting with business representatives in Geneva, Prime Minister Thaçi reiterated the call of the Government of Kosovo to all Swiss investors to come and invest in Kosovo. 

Prime Minster Thaçi also encouraged the business representatives in Geneva to take the opportunity to create lasting partnerships with the Kosovo businesses. 

On their part, the business representatives in Geneva expressed their happiness to meet Prime Minister Thaçi and pointed out the importance to advance the economic cooperation between Kosovo and Switzerland. 

Business representatives in Geneva said that during the meeting with Prime Minister Thaçi they got important information about the favorable opportunities for international investments in the Republic of Kosovo. In this respect they promised to look into opportunities to invest in the Republic of Kosovo. 

They said that they welcome the opportunity for cooperation and exchange of experience with the business community in Kosovo. 

In today’s meeting with the business community in Geneva, Prime Minister Thaçi was accompanied by the Minister of Economic Development, Besim Beqaj, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Petrit Selimi and the Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo to Switzerland, Naim Malaj.
