Secretary General of the Office of Prime Minister:
provides policy advice for the Prime Minister;
ensures that policy decisions and other measures of the Office of Prime Minister are implemented efficiently and effectively;
ensures that implementing measures of the Office of Prime Minister are regularly monitored and shall take corrective measures in case of obstacles;
manages civil servants and other employees of the Office of Prime Minister;
manages the finances and other resources of the Office of Prime Minister;
manages the flow of information in the Ministry;
cooperates and coordinates with other secretary generals of ministries on a regular basis;
coordinates relationship of the Office of Prime Minister with its subordinate administrative bodies.
Activity of the Secretary General of the Office of Prime Minister is developed based on the Law no. 03/L-189 on State Administration of the Republic of Kosovo, Rules of Procedure of the Government of Kosovo 09/2011, Regulation no. 02/2011 amended and supplemented by Regulation no. 07/2011 on Administrative Areas of Responsibility of the Office of Prime Minister and Ministries, Regulation no. 2001/19 on Executive Branch, and other legal and sub-legal acts related to General Secretaries.
Secretary General of the Office of Prime Minister ensures that all activities of the Government are to be exercised in strict accordance with the Rules of Procedure of the Government.
Secretary General is not to receive instructions from any government, organization, institution or person, except of those having authority by their respective ministries.
Secretary General is also responsible:
For admission to the Office of the Prime Minister to be made in accordance with the principles of merit, professional competences, fairness, equal opportunity, non-discrimination and equal representation, on the basis of public competition and after verifying the candidates' ability to act.
To ensure the recruitment, organization, promotion and management of Civil Servants of the Office of Prime Minister on the basis of merit; which means appointing the best person for a position in public administration and recognition of the results of Civil Servants during the performance of their functions.
Secretary General of the Office of Prime Minister directly administers and manages:
Government Coordination Secretariat;
Office of Legal Support Services;
Office for Strategic Planning;
Office on Good Governance;
Office for Public Communications;
Office for Management and Administration of the Official Gazette of Kosovo;
Administrative Office;
Office for Budget and Finance;
Public Procurement Office, and
Respective positions corresponding directly to the Secretary General

Secretary General of the Office of Prime Minister assists in working performance of relevant Agencies of the Office of Prime Minister:
Gender Equality Agency;
Food and Veterinary Agency;
Archives State Agency and
Kosovo Security Council Secretariat
Secretary General of the Office of Prime Minister also assists in working performance of the Offices which fall under subordination of the Cabinet of Prime Minister.
